The Auto-Mate hydraulic ‘translift’ trailer was originally designed for use at the Caterpillar articulated dump truck (ADT) Peterlee plant in the late 1970’s. Space constraints in the rapidly expanding business necessitated a highly adaptable internal transport system to facilitate the flow of dump bodies, front and rear chassis units and other bulky assemblies within the factory and outside in the yard areas. Auto-Mate was and still is the answer. Having served with distinction for Forty years, Auto-Mates are still in continuous use on multiple shifts at the Caterpillar plant.
